OMG Working Group to Demonstrate Interchange Among 10 BPMN Tools

Needham, MA, June 05, 2015 - The Object Management Group® (OMG®) is pleased to announce that its Business Process Model and Notation Model Interchange Working Group (BPMN MIWG) will demonstrate the smooth interchange of models between tools that implement the BPMN™ standard.

Three live demonstrations will take place at OMG's quarterly Technical Meeting in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday, June 17th. The vendors who will participate are: BOC Group, camunda, itp-Commerce, Omny link, SAP, Signavio, Sparx Systems, Trisotech, W4 Software and Yaoqiang.

In the first demonstration, BPMN Diagram Exchange, ten different tools will be chained together to design a business process, starting from a blank page. Working at the same time, these tools will validate that BPMN diagrams are interchangeable. The second demonstration, Hidden Attributes Exchange, will define a full set of attributes that are not visible, but meaningful, for business process design. The third demonstration, Execution Attributes Interchange, will display BPM suites running the same BPMN file, created with several design tools.

The three live demonstrations will be broadcast via Google Hangouts and will be available on-demand on YouTube starting at 4:00 PM CEST (GMT+2) on Wednesday, June 17th at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLg1_QLHzGY. Visitors who want to attend the demonstrations, which are open to the public, should register here: https://www.omg.org/berlin-15.

"These demonstrations represent the most extensive display of BPMN interchange to date. Ten different tools will be used to collaboratively model, visualize and execute BPMN process models," said Denis Gagné, Chair of BPMN MIWG and CEO/CTO of Trisotech.

BPMN provides a graphical notation and precise model for specifying business processes. It has been an OMG-adopted standard since 2005. BPMN MIWG held its first successful interchange demonstration at OMG's June 2013 Technical Meeting.
